Home Study Tips:
- Practice, practice, practice. Homework is assigned daily to reinforce topics and to help you gain a better understanding of the material, don't ignore it or leave it to the last minute.
- Ask questions. Write down your questions while reviewing notes or working on a problem so you can ask them the next day. This can help you clarify any misunderstandings, point you in the right direction or let you know that you're already on the right track.
- Review the material consistently. Spend 10-15 minutes every night reviewing your notes or practicing past problems. Many concepts in science are related to one another, and it will be easier to understand the new concepts if you're confident with what you've learned earlier.
- Be patient and keep a positive attitude. You may not understand some topics immediately, or even by the time a quiz is given, but realize that with time and practice you will be confident with the material.
